Whitney Hunter
Bringing more than a decade of experience in public health, policy, and human rights advocacy in the United States and internationally, Whitney has built a career driven by a commitment to advancing the rights of women and marginalized communities, challenging institutional barriers, and translating advocacy into meaningful change.
In Madagascar, Whitney led advocacy efforts alongside a team of Malagasy community health workers, partnering with NGOs and government ministries to advance education on sexual and reproductive health and rights. Together, their efforts contributed to a formally adopted change in national education policy and the development of a rights-based curriculum for secondary schools.
Her international experience also includes gender equity and public health initiatives with the Peace Corps in Ukraine, leading policy and advocacy initiatives addressing women's rights, reproductive health, and child marriage for a Cameroonian organization, and human rights research with the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative focused on abuses against Yazidi women and communities.
In the United States, Whitney served as a Legislative Director in the Massachusetts House of Representatives, where she developed legislative strategies and helped advance a broad range of policy priorities. During this time, she also served as Director of the Ellen Story Commission on Postpartum Depression, contributing to statewide efforts to improve maternal mental health policy and awareness. Earlier in her career, she managed public health programs at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, including initiatives serving people experiencing homelessness and other underserved populations.
Having worked directly with communities, alongside grassroots advocates, and within government institutions, Whitney brings a practical understanding of both the possibilities and limitations of existing systems. She founded 30Rights in her home state of Texas with the conviction that effective advocacy requires strong relationships, clear strategy, and a willingness to challenge the status quo.
Whitney holds a Master of Public Health from the University of North Texas Health Science Center and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from St. Edward's University.

Operations and Grants Manager
Alex Hunter
As the Operations and Grants Manager at 30Rights, Alex builds and manages the systems that support the organization’s Texas advocacy and international grantmaking. His work spans financial and administrative systems, grant application and management processes, and coordination of organizational reporting and compliance requirements.
Alex’s approach is grounded in his experience working alongside communities and humanitarian teams in Madagascar, Bangladesh, and Malawi. Through roles with Médecins Sans Frontières, UK-Med, and SEED Madagascar, he has managed program budgets and teams, contributed to funding proposals and donor reports, and overseen monitoring and evaluation. These experiences have shaped his appreciation for practical systems that help people do their work well and respond to the needs of the communities they serve.
At 30Rights, Alex brings that perspective to building a strong operational foundation and thoughtful grantmaking processes that combine accountability with flexibility and respect for grantee partners’ priorities.
He holds a master’s degree in Community Water and Sanitation from Cranfield University and a bachelor’s degree in International Politics and Military History from Aberystwyth University.
