We fund advocates. We are advocates.

A human rights organization based in Fort Worth, working in Texas and across Latin America.

People can’t depend on rights that systems won’t protect. We fund human rights defenders abroad and work to change laws at home.

Across Texas and around the world, the people most affected by injustice often have the least power to change the systems that shape their lives. We fund grassroots advocates abroad and do our own human rights advocacy in Texas. It’s one mission carried out in two ways. What we learn in one place strengthens the work in the other.

Our Priorities

Human rights are interconnected. The same power structures that fail a mother in Guatemala can fail a mother in Texas. That’s why we combine Texas advocacy with international grantmaking, connecting our own advocacy work with the grassroots organizations we support around the world.

Women's Rights

We invest in advocacy to secure women's rights, from reproductive health and safe childbirth to protection from violence.

Immigration & Displacement

Refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrant families face systems built to exclude them. We stand with advocates who fight back.

Justice Systems

Justice systems can make inequality worse. We work alongside advocates protecting people's rights from arrest to release and beyond.

Why 30Rights?

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights contains 30 articles. The United Nations adopted it in 1948, under a drafting committee chaired by Eleanor Roosevelt. Those 30 articles are the standard by which our work is measured.

The Declaration lists what belongs to every person: safety, health, fair treatment by the courts, the freedom to seek safety elsewhere, and the freedom to stay home. Almost 80 years later, whether a person experiences these rights too often depends on where they were born and who holds power where they live.

How can you get involved?

Wherever you are and whatever you can offer, there is room for you here. Rights do not protect themselves, and the people defending them need funding, allies, and people who are paying attention.
